As a general contractor in Gresham, we see the same kinds of houses week after week. There are 1960s and 1970s ranches and split-levels in Rockwood, Centennial and North Gresham, and newer two-story homes on the slopes around Gresham Butte and Pleasant Valley. Many of the older homes are on their second or third roof and still have their original wood siding and aluminum windows. That is where most of our Gresham work starts: a roof that has lost its granules, siding gone soft at the bottom course, a window that fogs every winter.

Gresham sits near the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge, and in winter the east wind comes through hard. It lifts shingles, drives rain sideways into siding joints and window frames, and every few years brings an ice storm that drops limbs on roofs and fences. After a big storm we get calls for roof repair in Gresham, torn siding and broken fence panels. The rest of the year it is the slow work of the wet season: moss, soft trim and the dry rot that follows water.

Because we are based in Gresham, we can usually get out to look at a job quickly and walk you through it in person. Shawn meets you, looks at the problem and gives you a clear written bid before any work starts. Small jobs are welcome too. Plenty of Gresham homeowners started with a handyman list, a sticking door or a patch of drywall, and called us back later for a new roof or a new front door.

East wind and ice

The east wind out of the Gorge hits Gresham harder than most of the metro. It finds loose shingles, lifted flashing and siding with tired nails. Ice storms add weight and falling branches. After a storm, a quick look at the roof edges, the ridge and the east-facing wall is worth the time. We can deal with what is urgent first, then talk through the full repair.

Ranches from the 60s and 70s

A lot of Gresham's housing went up in the 1960s and 1970s. Those homes tend to have original wood or hardboard siding, older aluminum windows and roofs that hold moss. None of that is a crisis on its own. Replacing one piece at a time, starting with whatever is letting water in, keeps the budget sensible and the house dry.

Permits, plainly

Some jobs need a permit from the City of Gresham and some don't. It depends on what is being changed: structure, openings or just the surface. We'll tell you up front if a permit is needed for your Gresham project, and the bid will say so in plain words. No surprises halfway through the job.

Is Triple SSS really based in Gresham?

Yes. Our shop is in Gresham, close to the Portland line, and Gresham sits in the middle of our service map. That is why we can usually get out to look at a Gresham job quickly. Call (503) 781-2093 or send the estimate form, and Shawn will set up a time to come by.

Do you take small handyman jobs in Gresham?

We do. A door that won't latch, a patch of drywall, a rotten board on the deck, a TV to mount. Small jobs are how a lot of our Gresham neighbors first got to know us. Put the whole list together and we'll work through it in one visit where we can.

Can you repair wind damage on a Gresham roof?

Yes. East-wind storms lift and tear shingles every winter. We look at the damage, cover anything urgent, then give you a written plan for the repair. If the roof is near the end of its life, we'll say so honestly and show you why, so the decision is yours.

Tell us about your house.

Send a few lines about the job and the best way to reach you. Shawn reads every message himself and calls back fast, usually the same day.
